Thinking of joining a fun run? Whether it’s 3KM or 10KM, preparing right makes all the difference — not just for performance, but for enjoyment too. Here’s how to make the most of your first run event:


1. Pick the Right Distance

Start with a distance that suits your current fitness level. A 3KM or 5KM fun run is perfect for beginners and still gives you a great sense of achievement.


2. Train Smart, Not Hard

You don’t need intense training. Just walk or jog 3–4 times a week leading up to the event. Focus on building stamina, not speed.


3. Choose Proper Footwear

Comfortable running shoes are a must. Break them in before event day — no one wants blisters halfway through the run!


4. Eat Light Before the Run

Go for something easy to digest like a banana or toast 1–2 hours before. Stay hydrated, but don’t overdrink.


5. Bring Only What You Need
